Seafarers and their families can now contact our free, international helpline, SeafarerHelp, at any time on every day of the week, including the weekend.
SeafarerHelp was previously only available on WhatsApp from Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:00 (UK time), excluding Bank Holidays. However, we have upgraded our systems to offer a 24-hour service on WhatsApp all year round. The SeafarerHelp WhatsApp contact number remains the same: +44 (0)7909 470732.
WhatsApp is becoming an increasingly important contact method for SeafarerHelp, with 11.7% of all communication with the helpline between April 2018 and March 2019 using the app. In fact, contact methods using the internet – which is free of charge and convenient – accounted for over 60% of all communication with SeafarerHelp over the last financial year (more statistics from the helpline can be found in the ISWAN 2018-19 Annual Review).
SeafarerHelp can only accept text and voice messages and attachments via WhatsApp – calls are no longer supported. However, seafarers and their families can still call the helpline on +44 (0)20 7323 2737 and our team will call them back, or a callback can be requested at seafarerhelp.org/en/callback. SeafarerHelp is also available 24/7 via e-mail, Live Chat and SMS as well as a number of online platforms including Facebook and Skype. Please visit www.seafarerhelp.org for contact details along with further support and information for seafarers and their families.
