Established in 1855, Britannia was the first P&I Club in the market and remains a leader in the International Group of P&I Clubs. It has held its prominent position by focusing on providing an exceptional standard of service for the benefit of its Members.
Established in 1855, Britannia P&I is a mutual P&I Club that provides Protection and Indemnity (P&I) and Freight, Demurrage and Defence (FD&D) cover to shipowners and charterers worldwide. Britannia P&I comprises The Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association Holdings Limited, The Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association Europe (Britannia Europe) and The Britannia Steam Ship Insurance Association Limited (Britannia UK). Britannia P&I was the first P&I Club in the market and remains a leader in the International Group of P&I Clubs. It has held its prominent position by focusing on providing an exceptional standard of service for the benefit of its Members based on the essential values and principles of mutuality combined with commercial strength. Through embracing its core values of integrity, trust, expertise, excellence and mutuality, Britannia P&I always puts its Members first. In order to provide exceptional service to its Members, Britannia has offices and regional hubs across the globe with local teams ready to meet the needs of Members in that region. With its head offices in Luxembourg and London, it also currently has hubs in Denmark, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, as well as exclusive correspondents in Korea, Spain, Taiwan and the USA.
